Not a few like Obama jokes not because it says funny things about the US President but because it springs off positive changes to most of us. It helped them to think, be aware, pause for a moment and think about our country and – politics.
Let’s admit it; no one is genetically interested in politics. It’s boring and complicated. What we feel about it might be otherwise. How can we like if its full of inconsistencies, bare-knuckling and even deceit. We are into it not by choice, but by ‘necessity’. Politics lead and shaped our society. It formed men and women. It influenced how we should live in this world, without giving option.
But did you think that these Obama jokes had awakened your curiosity even once? Did it made you want to know more? Well, it did for many.
At first you laugh simply because of the humor. Then you get hooked up since somehow there is reality in it which you can relate to. Then, the interest awakens your desire to know more.
A good example here is this joke: “If you have voted for Barrack Obama in election 2008, it proved that you are certainly not a racist. But just in case you will vote for him again in election 2012, it will then prove that you are indeed one.” This can elicit a guffaw but more importantly it can arouse your interest.
Barack Obama is the First African American President of the United States which makes him a subject of racism but mostly in the name of humor. Having him as the president surely proves that there is equality in this nation. And that is good. It made us all think that after so many bad things happening around us, there is a reason to be content. And because of this it can suddenly dawn on us that, “Hey, political jokes are not bad at all”.
Maybe the reason why these jokes are out of control is because people tend to like its effect in their lives. Subconsciously they can relate to it and want it to influence them. At least the immediate effect is the laughter, which gives the good feeling.
Then it can help us to adjust the situation for better. Obama jokes aren’t too bad after all.
